How would you define "paradise" from a local perspective?

Shall I do it in a spoken-word style? I shall.
“Paradise is an illusion. Sold by the hands of greedy politicians to keep the economy booming. While freshly paved roads are only maintained when someone important (former vice president Byden) arrives. Swept under the rug are pressing issues that claims many lives. Healthcare, every type of violence, the lack of education, and the lack of areas to grow. Depending on the family you are borned into, you can be considered lucky—since the island runs on “who you know”.

Paradise is an illusion, sold by the hands of greedy politicians. I can’t tell you why I choose to stay, though there are many reasons to go. Probably because since the disposition of African slaves this is the only place that feels like home. But my hope is heaven-ward. I know it will get worse before it gets better, but I thank God that when trouble comes it won’t last forever. Many times we speak of heaven like that is our final destination but God has more in-store for His redeemed creation. A new earth. A place that knows no pain, no sorrow, where we won’t shed another tear again. A new earth, where there will be no sin. I’m sorry for the lack of a picture because it is written in pen that “eyes have not seen, nor ears have heard, nor has it entered in the hearts of men, the things God has in store for them who loves him.” 1 Cor 2:9
