How would you define "paradise" from a local perspective?
Increased quality of life: increase in local agriculture and get back to being the breadbasket of the Caribbean. de-monopolization of the healthcare industry which would allow more doctors and specialized care to be brought on island. A proper department store, we deserve more than just the dollar stores and the monopoly of grocery stores on island. Rework how government gets things done. There’s too many signatures needed just for simple projects which delays progress. Actually allowing young people in higher positions in government. We have a mentality that the old way shouldn’t change and that’s incorrect and stalls progress. Increase relationships with fellow island nations. Instead of going to the states for investors we should first try with other island nations. We do not need to resort to selling st. Croix in the name of “progress”. I do acknowledge how far we’ve come with WAPA. we have not have an outtage in a few months, and our light bill is lower because of the new renewable energy. And stop giving VI paving the road contracts. They do a terrible job, compared to other contractors that have been doing an excellent job.
